Privacy & cookies
This page covers what 48x.ai collects when you visit, what we do with it, and how to opt out. The plain-English version: we run two analytics tools so we can see whether anyone is reading the site. We don't sell data, and the site works fine if you reject everything.
Who runs this site
48x is a small studio. The site is operated by 48x Inc. Reach us at hello@48x.ai for any privacy question, including data deletion requests.
What we collect
We use two third-party analytics tools, both loaded directly in your browser:
- PostHog (product analytics + session replay) — captures page views, clicks, and a recording of your session on this site (mouse moves, scrolls, clicks, viewport size). PostHog masks form inputs and certain sensitive elements by default. Hosted by PostHog Inc. in the US.
- Google Analytics 4 (gtag, property
G-YCY8P0R6SW) — page views, basic device/browser info, referrer, approximate location (city-level). We haveanonymize_ipenabled.
We do not run advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or third-party social embeds.
Cookies and local storage
The trackers above set their own cookies and use localStorage for session and identity tokens. We also set one item ourselves: localStorage["48x_consent"], which stores your accepted / rejected choice so we don't ask again.
Why we collect it
To understand what parts of the page actually get read, where things break, and roughly where visitors come from. That's it. The data is not used to make decisions about you as an individual.
Your choices
If you click REJECT in the banner, we disable Google Analytics for your browser (via the ga-disable-G-YCY8P0R6SW flag) and call posthog.opt_out_capturing() so PostHog stops recording your session. Both choices persist in your browser until you clear site data.
You can change your mind any time:
Browser-level controls
- Most browsers honor Global Privacy Control and "Do Not Track" — PostHog respects GPC.
- You can also use Google's GA opt-out browser add-on to disable GA across all sites.
- Clearing site data for
48x.airesets everything, including your consent choice.
Data retention
PostHog retains event and replay data per their default plan (typically 1 year for events, 30 days for session replays). Google Analytics 4 is configured for the standard retention window. We don't keep an off-platform copy of either.
How we share data
Aside from the two processors named above (PostHog Inc., Google LLC), we don't share or sell visitor data. Their privacy policies are at posthog.com/privacy and policies.google.com/privacy.
Your rights
If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Email hello@48x.ai with the subject line "Privacy request" and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change what we collect or which tools we use, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes will trigger the consent banner again.
